Spa Industry Standards – Operator & Consumer

While the Thai Spa Association as with many other spa industry bodies, has a ‘code of ethics’ for their membership (www.thaispaassociation.com/TSPA/codeofethics.php), the International Spa Association has taken this one step further with the introduction of their Global Best Practices for the Spa Industry.  This document also incorporates a section for the spa consumer which in-part reads:

As a Spa Guest, it is your responsibility to:

  • communicate your preferences, expectations and concerns;
  • communicate complete and accurate health information and reasons for your visit;
  • treat staff and other guests with courtesy and respect;
  • use products, equipment and therapies as directed;
  • engage in efforts to preserve the environment; and
  • adhere to the spa’s published policies and procedures.
